I don’t just own Steel Health & Hormones Centre—a TRT clinic serving Westmoreland County (Greensburg, Delmont, Murrysville) and Allegheny County (Pittsburgh), Pennsylvania—I’m also a patient. Here’s what I’ve personally noticed since starting TRT.
Quick disclaimer: I’m not a medical professional. This is for education and entertainment only and isn’t medical advice. Don’t use this to diagnose or treat anything—work with a qualified clinician.

Physical Benefits
- More consistent energy.
I used to “power through” tired days (entrepreneur life), but I’d feel wrecked. Since starting TRT, my energy is steadier—even after a mediocre night’s sleep. - Faster recovery, better training rhythm.
Performance is up mostly because I can train more often—hard sessions don’t linger as long, so I’m back in the gym sooner. - Body composition edge.
In a calorie deficit, I’m hanging onto more muscle than I could pre-TRT. It’s a subtle but noticeable shift.
Sexual Benefits
Have you ever seen someone wave a piece of bacon under a sleeping dog’s nose?
Yeah… it’s like that.
Psychological Benefits
- More drive—smooth, not spiky.
I’m naturally competitive, but now the motivation feels cleaner. It’s not “I have to do this,” it’s “I get to do this.” Less monster, more machine.
Side Effects (Honest Notes)
- Slightly hotter temper.
When I get mad, I’m maybe 10% madder. I’m not flying off the hinges, but I can feel the heart rate bump when someone sneaks into the gym. My wife says she doesn’t notice a difference—I notice it in me. Manageable, but worth mentioning.
