Anthony (a medical professional himself at The Rehab Centre) came to Steel Health and Hormones Centre like most guys – he just didn’t feel like himself. 40-Year old Mom

Being a mom and a wife, you’re always needed and rarely get to focus on your own health and fitness. Everything revolves around your loved ones, and although you love caring for your family, you suddenly find yourself unhealthy. When I started going to the gym, I was intimidated and tired of feeling guilty about being overweight. I wondered how to use the equipment and worried if people would think, “Wow, that woman has no idea what she’s doing.” Could I stick with it and commit to making a change? So, I told myself, “Just do it.” If anything, it was better than sitting on the couch feeling sorry for myself. So, I did it, and I stuck with it.

Life, in general, is not an easy journey, but I found myself happy and proud that I pushed through. I made changes to my eating habits and utilized personal training at the gym to learn different workouts, such as working with bands. There are so many colors and sizes, and I was excited to discover how amazing bands are to add to your workout.

I hit a plateau as I made great strides with my weight loss and lost 40 lbs naturally with a good diet and consistent exercise. It was not only frustrating but also discouraging. I could work out for 2 hours a day and cut carbs and sugar, yet still not lose weight. So, I decided to look into Steel Health and Hormones Centre. I did the bloodwork, had a consultation with an amazing certified nurse practitioner, and we came up with a plan together.

We decided to first address my sleep issues with a supplement. While I started sleeping great, no weight loss was happening. So, I opted for the weight loss treatment, and I am so happy that I did. My body wasn’t responding to my hard work and diet. I was stuck. I know I still have a lot of work to do to hit my goal, but I am thrilled with the results and the personal attention I am receiving from Steel Health and Hormones. Hormone replacement therapy helped me preserve my lean muscle mass while losing weight, which was extremely important to me. One of my concerns with medical weight loss was losing lean muscle mass along with the weight.
